Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate for a sweeter version)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother chocolate)

1 cup crushed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts)

1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened, your preference)

Popsicle sticks or wooden skewers

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them in half. Insert a popsicle stick into the cut end of each banana half.

Freeze the Bananas: Place the banana pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Ensure they are spaced apart and not touching. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely solid.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.

Coat the Bananas: Remove the frozen banana pops from the freezer. Dip each banana into the melted chocolate, rolling it to ensure it’s fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.

Add Toppings: Quickly sprinkle crushed nuts or shredded coconut over the chocolate-covered bananas before the chocolate hardens.

Set the Coating: Place the coated banana pops back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, you can return them to the freezer for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

Serve: Once the chocolate is set, serve them immediately or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for a fun, healthy treat later!
